girlcrush

saw transformers II last night with my dearr.. overload of female hottness. at least michael bay understands his target demographic. people actually applauded when megan fox came onscreen.. not to say that i blame them. however, i did find myself more drawn to the other leading lady, isabel lucas, who radiated that model meets girl-next-door quality so prevalent among today's "it" girls.

i apsire to her hair in that last picture.. the look of natural, grown out roots with beachy blonde at the tips.. suchhh love. obsessed with her clean, natural look, glowing tan, and dusting of freckles, as well as her strong brows and light eyes.
i wonder if her and adrian grenier are still together.. their child would be a genetic masterpiece.
definitley hoping to see more from this beauty in the future, including more of her style, which as far as i can tell at this point, seems to be impeccable.

plans for today include a possible romp in trinity bellwoods, and soaking up the glorious sun.

secret garden

"One of the strange things about living in the world is that it is only now and then one is quite sure one is going to live forever and ever and ever. One knows it sometimes when one gets up at the tender solemn dawn-time and goes out and stands alone and throws one's head far back and looks up and up and watches the pale sky slowly changing and flushing and marvelous unknown things happening until the East almost makes one cry out and one's heart stands still at the strange unchanging majesty of the rising of the sun—which has been happening every morning for thousands and thousands and thousands of years. One knows it then for a moment or so."

IF SWALLOWED SEEK MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. WILL STAIN CLOTHES. WILL SOUND SPECTACULAR.

fakeblood@wrongbar last night

pulsing vibes. primal crowd. love&hype&beats.
welcome to the zoo- you are now an animal in a sea of hungry, sweaty beasts. sweat beads on the ceiling and drips down. steam and smoke lay like a heavy fog over the crowd. lights flicker and blur.
we are all creatures of the underground nightlife.
hope you enjoyed the ride.

sorry for the poor quality, phone camera, what can i say. hopefully there will be more to follow.

special shoutouts to two of my fav girls ever J & S- so glad for these epic nights we spend together. you gals party like it's your fucking jobs and i love every minute of it.

oh, and in case you happen to find yourself wondering what's on tv on a sunday morning at 5 am:

fabulous.

little birdy

from the portfolio of Kelly Smith;
an Australian illustrator who renders refined sketches of today's it-girl faces, and incorporates watercolour and other media into her fanciful visions.
i love the little personalized details and allusions to nature, as well as the delicate captions under each image; so lovely!

photographer: Nathaniel Goldberg
note to men everywhere: dress like this please.

perfect stylish preppy.
biggest points for that checkered button down and double breasted suit; it's all about the navy blue!

prohibition never stood a chance against exhibition:

omg his voice is so deep and raspy..i love how he whispers "you're sure?" before he starts kissing her..ahh! and the bow tie!!
the styling on this show is delightful..now if only they could write more scandalous scenes of this caliber..

you can't keep a bad girl down

endless blue

obsessed with those louis vuitton bunny ears.
today is paint on the patio day; inspiration abounds.

i'd like to know where the riverboat sails tonighttt..

some phone pics from luminato.
abstract weirdness.&dreamlike musings.

elizabethtown is on tv, and while i wouldn't say it's cameron crowe's masterpiece (almost famous, obviously) there is a certain poignancy to it; i find myself wishing i was a good ole southern gal that enjoys her fried chicken and lynard skynard and talks with a laid-back drawl.
once again, the best scene in the movie has an elton john song playing in the background, and while its no hippie van spontaneously bursting into singing tiny dancer, my father's gun is still a beautiful accompaniment. in the movie, it plays while orlando bloom is in the midst of an epic south country roadtrip (so on my life's to-do-list; hit up nashville, buy some authetic cowboy boots and oversized turquoise jewllery.) i can't find the exact scene online, but the song is definitly still worth listen.

slip us a rope
sail on round the bend..

forest princess

nature's first green is gold,
her hardest hue to hold.
her early leaf's a flower;
but only so an hour.
then leaf subsides to leaf.
so Eden sank to grief,
so dawn goes down to day.
nothing gold can stay.

The fantastical theme of this shoot is enchanting; it is almost as if it was the vision of a young child playing pretend for an afternoon in a quiet forest clearing brought to life.
I love the dainty, girlish sense of the styling as well; that lace face mask piece is delightful, as is the whole rummage-in-the-closet feel of the rest of the clothing.
note to self: subscribe to numero ASAP

Finally got to enjoy a gorgeous day; spent it strolling along the harbourfront, basking in the sun, and sampling the sights of the Luminato Festival (going on until the end of this weekend.) If the weather forecast holds true, I'll probably return tomorrow to continue the exploration.
Have some fascinating photos, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow... two nights of intense drinking have got me thoroughly worn out.

cheers to sunny skies and summer in the city.
oh,
and the muthafucking PITTSBURGH PENGUINS for kicking some serious ass in the stanley cup final.
sidney, ilu.

that song is amazing.. dallas green, ilu!

&ilu all too!
