lightening strikes

Bar Refaeli looking amazing GQ Italy, June 2009. Photographed by Guy Aroch. the shoot is permeated by a feeling of girl-next-door meets bronzed beach babe meets sticky sweet summer innocence.
Absolutely adoring the plastic barrette in the first picture.

I bet her and Leo just stare at each other and wonder if there's more to life than just being really, really, ridiculously good looking.
sex appeal overdose.

goodnight kittens

have you forgotten what we were like then
when we were still first rate
and the day came fat with an apple in its mouth

it's no use worrying about Time
but we did have a few tricks up our sleeves
and turned some sharp corners

the whole pasture looked like our meal
we didn't need speedometers
we could manage cocktails out of ice and water

I wouldn't want to be faster
or greener than now if you were with me O you

were the best of all my days

but you've got the love i need to see me through

oh sienna miller, can you do no wrong?
at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards looking gorg in a green sequined backless number of her own design from 2812 - clearly a collection that ACTUALLY understands fashion design and isn't just a celeb endorsement.
Why do so many famous people think that being able to act means you're able to design? Lindsay Lohan, I'm looking at you (a leggings line? really?)

probably my biggest girl crush ever.
the scenes with her in layer cake are def in my top fav of all time.

"isn't she a darling?"
isn't she..

went to social last night to listen to the synth sounds of japanese popstars.
if you're looking for some good electro sounds, download rise of ulysses and facemelter (with a name like that, you know it's going to be good!)

hope you kiddos are out painting the town red.

and when spring arrived, we were taken by surprise when the flows under our feet led into the sea

coquettes in chaos

after indulging myself in re-watching the first season of Gossip Girl in its delicious entirety, I found myself wondering who the designer of those fabulous Eleanor Waldorf clothes were.
Some of my favourite iconic outfits include:
(these backless dresses are perfection; I love the solid vibrant colours, and the skinny high-waisted belts)

Conclusion? Abigail Lorick is my new designer obsession.
Some outfits from Lorick Lady S/S 08 and 09 Collections:

also, her website is one of (if not the) best I've come across. It reads like a storybook, and the transition between pages allows you to flip between gorgeous photographs, not to mention that there's a delightful soundtrack floating in the background.

The F/W 09 music is very Paris along the Seine, and S/S 09 is the Manhattan Serenade from the 1940's; have a listen, I promise you'll feel as though you've just put the needle onto an old record and are smoking a cigarette while dancing around your parlour:

that night in manhattan was the start of it
we lived it and we loved every part of it
the glow of moonlight in the park
the lights that spell your name
the autumn breeze that fanned the spark
that set our hearts aflame

our kiss was a sky-ride to the highest star
we made it without touching a handlebar
and i gave you my love
t
o the melody of the music, the madness

that made our manhattan serenade

balmania

due to popular demand from a very dear friend, i decided to post some images from the
Balmain F/W 09 Collection
in all its studded, sequined, emphasized-shoulder deliciousness!!

obsessed with that skirt.

love this bow detail!! even though its made out of hardcore s&m leather and grommets, its still so feminine and cute!

love those final two dresses; badass meets rollardisco? i die.

spent all day yesterday helping with my boy's moving effort.. clearly, I am not destined for a future of physical labour. Do you have any idea how strenuous it is transporting someone's ENTIRE life from point a to point b; not like stuff you would casually move to and from school, but EVERYTHING you have acquired up until this point in your life.
it was the worst way imaginable to spend a day nursing a hangover.
on the plus side, i got to hotbox a giant uhaul at the end of the night.

well, im off to begin the unpacking.. see you on queen street.
